And the winner is … !

Swetha Dua is the winner of the 2021 SDCN International Talent of the Year Award!

She was given the award, at the Welcome Reception for International Scholars (arranged by Stockholms Akademiska Forum together with the City of Stockholm) at the Stockholm City Hall on 30 November.

Swetha was nominated for the award, along with three other nominees – Mei Li Heman, Lucione Rabelo, and Melis Aktas.

The reception was opened by the Vice President of the Stockholm City Council, Rana Nasrindotter, who was followed by Karin Ekdahl Wästberg, Director of Innovation in the City of Stockholm. At the award ceremony, Maria Fogelström Kylberg, CEO, Stockholms Akademiska Forum read out the names of the nominees, while Paula Crabtree, Vice Chancellor, Stockholm University of the Arts announced the winner.

A little background about Swetha – she is from India, and she is a whirlwind of energy and drive. Unfazed by the limiting circumstances during the pandemic, Swetha eagerly took to the grind and turned every half-chance into a win! She was an active member of SDCN, and peppered the Career Support Group with her questions. A project manager and team leader with years of experience, Swetha changed tack to get into the Swedish job market, signing up for the Stockholmsmentor program, which led to an internship via Jobbsprånget, and finally her present role as Project Manager at Avanade.
