Christmas Market & Nobel Week Lights
Join us for a festive afternoon in the heart of Stockholm, where we experience the traditional Christmas market in the city’s Old Town (Gamla Stan) and explore the city with light artworks inspired by the Nobel Prize. We will walk through the cobblestone streets full of Christmas decorations, to reach one of Stockholm’s oldest and most beloved Christmas markets. Let’s taste Swedish treats like Glögg (muled wine), Pepparkakor (gingerbread cookies), Brända mandlar (candied almond) and explore local traditions.
As the afternoon unfolds, we will continue our city exploration at the Stockholm City Hall to see the spectacular Nobel Week Lights.
Meeting point: Outside Gamla Stan T-bana station (on the green or red line of the Stockholm metro).
Schedule:
15:00 – we meet at Gamla Stan Metro Station (red or green line) to begin our adventure at the Christmas market, where you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere, festive decorations, and delicious Swedish treats.
16:30 – we’ll head to the meeting point for a one-hour English guided tour of the Nobel Week Lights. You are also welcome to enjoy the lights at your own pace.
Since the event will be outdoors, remember to dress warmly! Come celebrate the magic of the season with us!
This is a community event for SDCN members. Partners/family are also welcome to join. Please sign up if you would like to come.
