Stockholms Akademiska Forum introduces Stockholm Explorative Talks BY

Stockholm Explorative Talks BY is a new concept for interdisciplinary academic discussions arranged by Stockholms Akademiska Forum. Stockholm Explorative Talks BY are webinars organized in collaboration with academic institutions from all over the world.

In this new concept all participants – dubbed ‘Explorers’ – are linked to the collaboration partner, except one who will always come from Stockholm with the purpose to highlight the very diverse academia present in the Swedish capital.

‘Thanks to the fact that most things moved online in 2021, the possibility was there to introduce the Stockholm Explorative Talks webinars to a global audience. We were really successful and reached participants from 174 universities in 69 countries during the year with 6 webinars on different topics. Thanks to this we were contacted by universities and academic institutions from other parts of the world who were curious to try out the concept and organize webinars together with us. As a response to that we developed the Stockholm Explorative Talks BY”, says Maria Fogelström Kylberg, CEO of Stockholms Akademiska Forum.

The setup will be the same as before, namely that the scholars represent widely different academic disciplines and come unrehearsed to the discussion. The main Explorer briefly introduces their subject and the co-Explorers come into the discussion with their own academic perspectives. There is no moderator, the discussion is all improvised and not recorded.

On 23 February 2022, the very first Stockholm Explorative Talks BY will take place which will explore the topic: COPing mechanisms or viable green solutions? Accelerating Sustainability Transitions Post COP26.’ The collaboration partner for this premiere is the Next Einstein Forum – a platform that connects science, society and policy in Africa and the rest of the world.

‘We are looking forward to spread our interdisciplinary concept and to continue to develop it together with other academic organizations across the globe’, says Maria Fogelström Kylberg, CEO of Stockholms Akademiska Forum.
