Akinbode Fasakin recently completed his Doctoral studies at the Swedish Defence University and Stockholm University, Stockholm, Sweden by defending his PhD thesis: Subaltern Securitization – the Use of Protest and Violence in Postcolonial Nigeria. Prior to this, he completed his MSc in Security, Leadership and Society at the African Leadership Centre King’s College London through the ALC Peace and Security Fellowship Programme. He is also an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of International Relations at Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria. Akinbode also holds an MSc in international relations from Obafemi Awolowo University and a BSc in International Relations from the same university. He has published several articles in the areas of security and democracy in Nigeria in peer reviewed journals and books.
