Sara Persson is a researcher in Business Administration at Södertörn University. She has a general interest in corporate sustainability and CSR and a specific interest in conflicts and social sustainability issues in extractive industry areas. She also has long-standing experience from working with social sustainability and stakeholder engagement within the oil and hydropower industries in Albania. In her dissertation project she focused on company-community relations in Patos-Marinza Oilfield in south-central Albania and how the implementation of sustainability standards impacted power dynamics in the local setting. In her current research she focuses on conflicts around the Swedish mining industry and the establishment of new mines. She has a multidisciplinary background with a B.A. in Political Science from Uppsala University, a B.A. in Economics, a M.Sc. in International Development and Management from Lund University and a PhD in Business Administration from Södertörn University.
