Fariya Sharmeen has a background in urban and regional planning with research expertise at the interplay among built environment, travel behaviour and social networks. She is the Associate Professor of Mobility and Urban Planning at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Her research is focused on the understanding of behavior change towards sustainable transition and developing decision support models. Apart from academic research she worked in close collaboration with local and regional authorities in the decision making and evaluation of (smart) transport policies and collaborated with EU wide government and advocacy institutions to advise and coordinate policy and activities promoting sustainable mobility transition.
