Johannes Tovatt is architect, urban planner and head of creative at Sweco. He is often engaged as an expert, jury-member or process leader in complex urban design projects throughout Europe. He has been promoted to apply for professorships in several European universities, such as KTH Stockholm, ETH Zürich and TU Wien. He has led many award-winning projects, in Sweden and abroad. With extensive experience of successful competition over three decades, Johannes has participated in many cross-border projects within a wide spectrum of the profession, spanning across urban space to rural landscape, policies to design-tools, academia to experience-based.

He was educated at KTH Royal Institute of Technology 1986-1991, and Canterbury School of Architecture 1989-1990. Johannes Tovatt worked at Ralph Erskine Architect Planner in 1984 and started collaboration with Ralph Erskine and established Erskine Tovatt Architects and Planners in 2000.
