The initiative will run under the name of Stockholm Explorative Talks and take place during the week of the 2018 Nobel Prize announcements in early October.

“We believe that this approach can be a model for problem-solving in the academic world, which is also why we are excited to run this initiative in partnership with Staf,” said Anna Sjöström Douagi, Programme Director of the Nobel Center.

“Supporting innovation to advance academic insights and learning is a goal that Staf shares with the Nobel Center and I am confident that this is only the beginning of what will be a very prosperous partnership,” added Maria Fogelström Kylberg, CEO of Staf.

Moira von Wright and Micael Dahlen have been appointed this year’s curators. Von Wright, who is the former Vice-Chancellor of Södertörn University and a professor of humanity and welfare, is currently conducting research in imagination, participation and resilience, whilst Dahlen is a professor at Stockholm School of Economics and has been ranked number 10 in the world among researchers in his field.

Scholars who have been selected to participate in this year’s forum include Mark Rhinard, Loulou Cherinet, Walter Osika, Sanna Nordin-Bates, Gustav Borgefalk and Robin Teigland.

The inaugural edition of Stockholm Explorative Talks is part of the 2018 Nobel Calling initiative and will be hosted by the Royal College of Music in Stockholm on October 4, 2018.
