Pouya is the SDCN International Talent of the Year

Pouya Louyeh is the winner of the 2022 SDCN International Talent of the Year Award!

He was given the award, at the Welcome Reception for International Scholars (arranged by Stockholms Akademiska Forum together with the City of Stockholm) at the Stockholm City Hall on Monday 28 November.

Pouya was nominated for the award, along with three other nominees – Puck Imants, Heshan Perera, and Magda Tuset.

The reception was opened by the President of the Stockholm City Council, Mr Olle Burell, who was followed by Ms Karin Ekdahl Wästberg, Director of Innovation, City of Stockholm, then by Mr Robert Egnell, the Vice-Rektor of the Swedish Defense University and finally Dr Jason Czarnezki, Associate Dean of Environmental Law Programs and Strategic Initiatives, Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, New York. At the award ceremony, Maria Fogelström Kylberg, CEO, Stockholms Akademiska Forum read out the names of the nominees and announced the winner.

A little background about Pouya– he is from Iran and moved to Stockholm in August 2021, enthusiastic and motivated to begin a new chapter in life. His ambition to settle into society by finding a job as soon as possible presented him a difficulty path, but an internship via Jobbsprånget ultimately helped him break into the Swedish labor market. Pouya’s determination and dedication in everything he undertakes has inspired all of us and he continues to generously share his experience and insights with SDCN members. You will now find him working to electrify mobility as a Mechanical Development Engineer at Northvolt.

You can read more about this year’s nominees and the SDCN International Talent of the Year Award through the years, as well as our Honorary and Global Members here.

Join us in giving a warm around of applause to all the nominees and Swetha! Congratulations and richly deserved!
